And I love the fact you're in the Chicagoland area. We need more great blogs like yours based in this area.Little Penguinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14403498061539898347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13778604.post-1127787537936658942005-09-26T19:18:00.000-07:002005-09-26T19:18:00.000-07:00Poor kid. I mean, really.

You have a great blog, though - I came here from waiter rant and you are now my new favorite!

I work as a waitress in summers between university, too - hope you continue with your blog!Mariannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12846542859413684095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13778604.post-1121343231149323882005-07-14T05:13:00.000-07:002005-07-14T05:13:00.000-07:00I would have said something to the customer when s...I would have said something to the customer when she paid the bill. It's downright awful that she is exploiting her child in this manner. I'm sure you have regular customers in your establishment orther than these 2 and they also probably are aware that she i scamming the restaurant. I'd put an end to it.Just Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07388994511382337585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13778604.post-1121287793917411152005-07-13T13:49:00.000-07:002005-07-13T13:49:00.000-07:00I have known people to use the birthday thing, but...I have known people to use the birthday thing, but only as a joke on the "birthday" person. It only happens on rare occasions, like once every other year or so, and to someone different every time, and then its just fun. To teach a child how to get a free sundae is awful. I don't think its ever right to teach a kid to lie. I am afraid I would have been sarcastic with them and say, "well, happy birthday AGAIN!" I would have ratted them out, but thats how I am. (probably not in front of the kid, or maybe.)Angelizehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03899963768868869552noreply@blogger.com
